Attaching WINDBG to a virtual machine in Windows

hi,
i am trying to debug a windows 2 kmachine which is running on ms virtual pc. I did settings of v pc image and then in windbg i clicked on kernel debugging and entered com and baud rate. but it just displays waiting to reconnect and nothing happens ?
please help
