Exchange 2003 post-SP2 hotfix of interest - KB 933650 - Microsoft Exchange Information Store service encounters virtual memory fragment issues on an Exchange 2003 server

SYMPTOMS
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service encounters virtual memory fragment issues on a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. When you check the performance counter on the Exchange 2003 server, the VM Total 16MB Free Blocks counter of the MSExchangeIS performance object drops to zero. To resolve this problem, you must restart the server every two weeks.

I would be curious to hear real-world results with this hotfix. I have a server that I suspect might be running into this issue, but it hasn't been proven or disproven yet.

This is the first KB I can recall where Microsoft actually recommends rebooting every x days or weeks.

Assuming a 15 minute reboot cycle, 1 - 15/14d x 24h x 60m = max uptime of 99.926%...

I think they mention the 2 week time period because of this bug, which this hotfix is supposed to help fix. If you are forced to reboot your Exchange server every 2 weeks due to memory fragmentation, this is supposed to help.
