This is an excellent resource, thanks for the write up. If you use a utility such as WGET you can pre-cache the files before you launch the installation. If you are supporting an environment with slow internet connections, this pre-caching can be a life saver.

We can also automatically download the required files using the steps below 1. Create a folder on the local Drive e.g. c:\SCCM_DWNLD 2. Type the following Command from the command prompt @ the SCCM setup location (e.g. my setup ISO is located on D:\ Drive) "D:\SMSSETUP\BIN\i386\SETUP /download c:\SCCM_DWNLD" 3. The Above step will automatically download the 71 necessary files into the c:\SCCM_DWNLD folder
Just a quick note to add to this tread.
DO NOT use UNC paths from a command prompt when trying to run this. I.E Drag the setup.exe into a Command prompt, as this won't work. And will most likely to cause you to get annoyed. |
