Way to go!!
An excerpt from the Daily Press article:
On one of 140 combat missions, Staff Sgt. Dustin A. Lambries "identified an obviously constructed trash pile that was designed to entice coalition forces into a kill zone," according to his citation.
"Recognizing the threat, he quickly scanned the area and located another device within 10 meters of the trash pile," stopping his team from getting too close to the actual explosive.
During a raid on an insurgent safe house, Staff Sgt. Keith Schulz "recovered 23 propane tanks, five (homemade bomb) circuits, 980 pounds of chemicals used in the production of homemade explosives and two radios modified for use as remote triggers."
On average, 40 homemade bombs explode every day in Iraq, Barrett said Tuesday.
They are the leading cause of injury and death among U.S. forces in Iraq, Barrett said, and "to my way of thinking, these men have saved" hundreds of lives.
