Have you heard any rumblings about this update causing different issues? I have heard of one instance where (from the msexchange team's blog) someone had issues with services, etc; but that is it.
MK
I will ask around but so far I have only heard positive things about this update. I know some of the rollup updates from the past would have small issues here and there but so far, people have been happy with it.
We have the same problem.
Installed a clean ex2007sp1 CAS-only-server. Installed rollup2. It took 5 hours for "Optimizing .NET assemblies" at the end of the installation. Now we have 3 services that wont start: IMAP4, POP3 and "Microsoft Exchange Service Host".
i added the follwing line to the hosts table:
127.0.0.1 crl.microsoft.com and now the services start. Our exchange servers do not have a coonection to the internet. Remaining question is: is this an acceptable solution, am i not missing something?? Peter
Actually I have had issues with it. After installing it the IMAP and Exchange Service Host would no longer start and time out. No error is give that I can find. In addition EMC and EMS take a long time to start. I have yet to find anyone till now that has heard of these problems.
If anyone knows the cause I would appreciate some feedback.
Here is some feedback I've had from others (edited to remove personal info):
"I have installed Rollup 2 on four Exchange 2007 Servers and I have not had any issues yet. Two servers are a CCR Cluster and the other two servers are CAS/HUB. None of my servers have IMAP enabled. " "I have a customer running it on 6 servers, and they are supporting IMAP, with no issues." I know that doesn't help your cause, but I'm still trying to figure out a root cause for the people having the issue. I am wondering if it is dependent on a certain .NET hotfix or service pack.
Thank you for looking into it. I'm still have the problem and have double checked my .net versions. I have both 2.0 and 3.0 installed patched to latest level as far as I can tell.
I have a CCR cluster with two CAS/HUB servers as well. I have it also setup in a virtual environment the same way with both Server 2003 and Server 2008. The only thing I'm doing odd is I'm using the full demo version of Exchange 2007 SP-1 you can download from MS. I then enter our license keys and it works fine. The reason for this is I only have access to Exchange 2007 media that contains SP-1. Thanks,
Thanks I appreciate it. I am not finding much negative at all, but I am trying to perform my due dilligence on this...
Regards, MK
We are having a small issue with OWA after Rollup2 Installed.
Upon navigating to "https://server.domain.net/owa" we're getting a "Service Unavailable" error message. If anyone can provide some feedback i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks |
