Hi, I cant get this to work at all, "there was an error starting the channel" any thoughts? This is several machines, xp, win7, etc. Any word on being allowed to add credentials?
Thank you.
I've been having trouble on external connections. If in the office or on a VPN, it connects instantly. I haven't debugged it or looked into it yet. I haven't had the proper time.
I'm hoping MS posts the code up on CodePlex so we can hack away at it but it might be wishful thinking.
I already tried with the default or the undocument xml key,
but I allways get the message of MRAS credentials. With both 32 or 64-bit version in WinXP, 2003, Vista or Win7 ont the log file reports a null GRUU, wicht is the same erro I got when I try to use DVTA 20:08:23 : RegisterEndpoint 20:08:23 : RegisterEndpoint, already registered, returning 20:08:23 : RegisterAndRetrieveCreds : Registered sip endpoint 20:08:23 : Got Exception in RetrieveMRASCreds, aborting : System.Exception: got null MRAS GREE from server. at PreCallDiagTool.SipCommunicationManager.RetrieveMRASCredentials(Int32 credsDurationMins) at PreCallDiagTool.MediaTestController.RetrieveMRASCreds() 20:08:23 : StartTestChannel : Exception : PreCallDiagTool.PreCallDiagException: There was an error recovering MRAS credentials for the current SIP user. This might be a temporary problem with the server. Please try again in a little while Any good ideais?
Alan,
Despite the xml file I believe that the tool only uses automatic configuration and thus you would have to be logged in on the workstation with the same credentials as the OC user. This would also mean you have to sign in as the user of the pool in a multi-pool topology. I have heard others complain about not getting this running but I have the reskit x64 version running on Win7 and the elevated permissions is the only trick I am required to use. Codeplex - I will look into this but not knowing how that works I don't think this was that type of project. Tom
That should have read Aaron not Alan. There is a danger in doing email, im, facebook, twitter, phone, family, etc all at the same time. My apologies.
No worries - it is good to hear more info about this tool. I think the CodePlex idea is just a pipe dream of mine.
A lot (if not all?) of the Resource Kit tools are officially unsupported and this program seems to use the UC API SDK pretty well, so it would (potentially) be a good example program of using the UC API in a 'real world' situation.
I just got an e-mail confirmation from Microsoft.
The resource kit tools have not support... Let's just hope that they came up with the error and release another version of the monitor tool. I got DTVA working. |
