FYI: the OCS SQL update v201007 is exactly the same size as the 201005 update, so very difficult to decide what you have downloaded from the MS site. Look for the digital signature timestamp of the .MSI (=OCS SQL fix always shipped in .MSI file) / .MSP (=all the other OCS patches for server roles, clients come in .MSP files, only exception is the communicator phone edition that is a .CAB) files.
If you are too quick to download the new files after the new article appears, there is a high chance you download outdated files. Or even better than checking signature timestamp, to extract .MSI contect, and compare the content bit-by-bit: http://thebackroomtech.com/2009/05/20/the-best-msi-extractor/ That tool can NOT extract .MSP files, but for the SQL hotfix files (that are readable text script files), the file compare makes sense. |
