AARON! Im running OCS 2007 R2 on Server 2008 R2, with SQL 2008 R2 as my backend. All was going just fine, until I installed the CU7 update (ServerUpdatePackage)...
now after reboot, my FE wont start!!! Please help, it's Friday, and I broke the cardinal rule of trying to update on a Friday.... please help me enjoy at least SOME of my weekend?? This error it throws, "The Office Communications Server Front-End service terminated with service-specific error %%-1007781640" and some Googling said to run OCS2009DBUpdate, but when I run it on the main FE server, it says to install SQL Server 2005 Client Tools, and when it run it on my SQL 2008 R2 back-end server, it says the same thing!!

Do that - you do need SQL 2005 Server Client Tools unfortunately.
are there any issues with installing the server updates before getting them pushed out to clients?
