You can get DreamScene back by installing DeskScapes from Stardock.

Thanks for the blog post, I don't get BSOD's but I can't start a VMWare Workstation VMat all, I get a error message. But I have Hyper-V installed, and I didn't think to take Hyper-V off. I'll try that. Good idea.

I had no issues on completely up-to-date pc, but issues on pc with radeon 7200 and older graphics drivers from ATI - after reboot, it would forever stay on the "Windows XP" screen and progressbar keeps going. Solved by booting in "VGA" mode, uninstalling driver, rebooting and then installing the newest one from amd webpage. Another issue: when installed on a computer connected via the network (mapped tcp/ip port) to hp laserjet 2430, the printer driver (which has come from the original installation cd) was removed (but not the printer icon from printers and faxes) - fixed by downloading driver from hp website and installing.

Nice nice. This was good shjit. I got this working after mixing what cole, roy and the instructions, instructions...

Instead of using the iTunes.msi in /Tunes64Setup/ just download the 32-bit iTunesSetup (use 7-zip to extract) and run . Voila. Screw you apple. Im going home.

Just a popup wich say this version just support 32-bit bla bla bla but i worked out just fine.
The OCS 2007 server update is security related so it makes sense to update the clients as well when the server-client communcations channel is affected. However, this fact is NOT indicated in any of the client fixes you reference.

ok, after hours and hours of research and trying and uninstalling i've got it. so if you're reading this and thinking...

"dang, i want to be that guy that has his apple ipod working on his xp 64 bit system"

listen to the tips here:

1. the instructions given are about 95% air tight, read my tips and then go and follow the instructions found here: http://yukichigai.googlepages.com/iphonex64

1.a) IMPORTANT!!! you must have SP2 installed on your operating system. you can check this by right clicking on "my computer-->Properties-->General (tab)
*it will tell you under "system" what service pack you have, if it says SP1 make sure to go to windows and download SP2.

2.) download and install quicktime 7.4.5.67 (this is the most current version as of 5-7-2008)

3.) go to the instructions page, download 7-zip, and the direct link to itunes64setup.exe WHICH IS THE CORRECT VERSION 7.6.0.29 ... (do not follow the link to apples page because the download will most likely be "itunesSetup.exe" which is a 32 bit installer)

4.) follow the instructions carefully UP TO the instructions for getting itunes to recognize the ipod. THEN STOP

5.) AT THIS POINT MAKE SURE YOUR IPOD IS PLUGGED IN, TURNED ON and MOST IMPORTNANTLY ....UNLOCKED (unlocked as in move the "slide to unlock" on the touch screen or make sure if not a touch the HOLD is NOT on)

6.) Continue through the instructions to update the driver. Having the ipod unlocked for some reason was the only way I could get the driver to install.

you should be as happy as I am, but still have the lingering feeling of wanting to run over apple employees with your car.... so thats where step 7 comes in handy...

7.) find a Pillow and punch it several times pretending its Steve jobs

I've installed it. Seems cool but will I use it long term? I dunno. It definitely has slowed down my Outlook session at times and I prefer not to use cache - on a fast network it can be a waste of time. What MSFT needs to do in a really good indexer on the backend and let addins access it in any way they see fit.

relatively easy fix that also gets around annoying itunes stuff

1) check to see if your 64-bit computer can 'see' the ipod as a storage device

2) use a friend or library computer or something where you can get itunes loaded and a) install i-tunes b) connect your ipod c) if your 64bit comp was able to 'see' ipod, do nothing else (no need to even register) - if your 64-bit comp was unable to 'see' ipod then you need to enable mass storage device setting on your ipod (it seems as though new ones are already enabled, mine was anyway)

3) your done using iTunes now, go back to your own computer

4) install python on your computer from

5) download database builder form sourceforge

6) extract database builder download and then copy rebuild_db.py into the ipod's root directory

7) drag and drop whatever mp3s you like into the ipod - just put them in the root directory in any folders you like - I do them by album

after you put the music you want on to the ipod, double click the rebuild_db.py file in ipod root directory

9) listen to your music

10) if you want to change songs, just mess around with them however you like, and double click the rebuild_db.py file again when you are finished - if you want to change songs using someone elses computer make sure that python is installed

I just finished doing this and it works 100% with the new ipod shuffle 1gb

I take no credit for this other than noticing that new shuffle can be 'seen' w/o having to enable from iTunes (at least on my comp) and spent a while looking for enable mass storage when apparently none existed

All the real work was done here: where you can also find more detailed instructions

Try to use either XACLS.vbs and of CALCS.exe to dump it to a file. Then write a script to 2 compare them. This might not be faster than AccessEnum with 2 TB of data but at least this is scriptable.
